Jordyn McNichols

Teacher

Jordyn McNichols grew up in Connecticut where she was introduced to the world of dance at the age of two. She began studying jazz, tap, lyrical, and ballet at a local competitive dance studio.

At the age of 15 her focus shifted to ballet, and a year later she began her professional career dancing with the Albano Ballet Company of America, in Hartford, CT. She danced with the Albano Ballet for 4 years performing soloist roles in An American In Paris, The Nutcracker, Dance - The Language of Movement, and the Spring Repertoire showcase. Under the direction of Joseph Albano, she was trained in his "Law of Centers and Theory of Rotors", a more scientific understanding of ballet and how the body works through each movement.

After graduating high school, Jordyn moved to Philadelphia to attend the University of the Arts. She trained in ballet under the direction of Eva Szabo, Anastasia Babayeva, Denis Gronostayskiy, Christine Cox, Scott Jovovich, Andrew Pap, and Karen Brown. She also received extensive training in modern and jazz with Zane Booker, Kim Bears-Bailey, and Roni Koresh just to name a few. Throughout her college career she had the privilege of giving many performances at the Drake Theatre and Marriam Theatre in Philadelphia. In 2013, Jordyn graduated with a BFA in Ballet Performance.

Jordyn has had the opportunity to work with esteemed choreographers such as Joseph Albano, formerly of the Ballet Russes, Julia Frederick, soloist for George Balanchine, Ronen Koresh, Christine Cox, John Alleyne, Scott Jovovich, and Wayne David.

Jordyn currently lives in Philadelphia and is pleased to be able to share her love and knowledge of the art of dance with students in the tri state area.
