Kelly-Ann Lodato

Teacher

Kelly-Ann began dancing at the age of two. Throughout the course of her dance career she has studied various styles of dance including ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, hip-hop, Irish, lyrical, and modern. She had the privilege to perform at various community events and parades like the Philadelphia St. Patrick’s Day Parade, Philadelphia Thanksgiving Day Parade, Six Flags Great Adventure Dance Festival, and Disney Magic Music Days. At the age of thirteen, Kelly-Ann became a teacher’s assistant and began using her knowledge of dance and her positive attitude to help instruct and motivate the students at the studio

Her love for dancing and teaching brought her to Montclair State University where she graduated in 2011 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance and a minor in Business Administration. At Montclair she actively studied a wide variety of modern dance, including that of choreographers Paul Taylor, Jose Limon, Twyla Tharp, Lester Horton, Doug Elkins, Charles Weidman, Earl Moseley, Yvonne Rainer, and Helen Tamiris. In 2012, Kelly-Ann also received her teaching degree from Dance Masters of America Teacher Training School.

Kelly-Ann has been with Edge Dance Center since they opened in 2006, and became a full time teacher in 2009. She is an active company member of Andrea Mychaels Dance Project, based out of Oaklyn, NJ. She has also been involved in various performances around the area, including Staten Island Modern, Philly Fringe and ETC Performance Series, to name a few. Kelly-Ann enjoys dancing, teaching, and sharing her love for dance with younger generations.
